I had a Smokey too. And he died the same way - kidney failure, had to put him down, wasn’t eating. RIP Smokey and {HUGS} to Hello Again. ---

Sorry! I seem to have missed this thread! Yes, **Hello Again** , they’re only with us for a short time, but what comfort they bring us while they are here! I know you will have many happy memories of your Smokey (as do we of all our pets), and I hope you will have adopted another friend, as there are so many sweet ones just waiting for their special human. Smokey:( > > Bill We have decided not to adopt a new one just yet (we still have Bandit, and Ashes in our 1BR apt) but sooner or later I figure the temptation will overcome us… **Quasi** , I donated to the cat shelter in Washtenaw County, MI (the shelter where Smokey & Bandit would have gone if I hadn’t adopted them) in Smokey’s memory, and my husband asked for a donation to NYC’s Urban Cat League instead of a Christmas gift. 🙂 ---
