I have back issues and being old, I have to get up to pee at night. (to be fair, I do drink a lot of water in the evening) Anyhoo, my normal routine is after I get up in the night, I move to the couch where I get on a heating pad. Last night I wake up needing to go, so I got up glanced at the clock and it was 12:45. I went to the bathroom then moved to the couch. As I was getting the heating pad in place, I looked at my phone as I was laying down and it was 3:30. How very strange! So I looked at the clock in the kitchen and, yep, 3:30. This morning I checked the bedroom clock - perfect time. Maybe I was abducted by aliens!? ---

My sleep routine is somewhat similar, and I have gotten in the habit of looking at my watch when I get up to pee. For the last year or so I have also dreamed of looking at my watch before I pee. Several times this has resulted in me making the coffee at 2 AM (so the opposite effect). So I have tried to get in the habit of looking at my watch _after_ I pee. Hopefully I don’t start dreaming that I got up to pee. ---

I think, in order of plausibility 1. You read the clock erroneously the first time. 2. You actually woke up two times and didn’t check the clock the second time, but in your sleepy state you failed to register it correctly 3. You entered some kind of fugue state 4. You were abducted by aliens. So, applying Mulder’s razor, 4 is the obvious answer… ---

Could also be a ‘Time Traveler’s Wife’ type situation, where the OP has a paranormal genetic disorder that causes them to randomly time travel…just in short hops. Not America!), and talking about losing time, they are only about ten years late: A court in the US has imposed a fine of $25 billion on Meta, the parent company of Facebook, in connection with the data privacy scandal involving the analytics firm Cambridge Analytica. Judge Francis Mathew stated on Wednesday that the company had breached consumer protection laws in the state of New Mexico. ---

All the clues point to alien involvement. I’ll alert X-Com, so @Lucas_Jackson if the Commander acts remotely like I do when I play I would recommend evacuating the premises, trooper safety comes first, civilian safety… is nice to have. ---

This happened to me! It was only an hour I lost but I had no explanation. I set the alarm to get up for a self help group meeting. Normal sleepiness but I saw the clock when I got up. Got up, got ready, left the house and got in my car. And as I was almost there, I saw I was an hour behind. Had missed the meeting completely! I hadn’t considered aliens, but now that I think about it…hmm… ---

Not sure whether to post this here or in the weird dreams thread but one time I worked in a battalion mailroom inside a military HQ. I was working an all-nighter and must have fallen asleep and slept till morning because when I awoke people were already walking around the hallways with the new day’s business already commenced. I was dog tired so I made my way back to the barracks so I could catch an hour of sleep and then get back at work. On the way back to the barracks I stopped by the PX and got a snack, ran into my OIC and told him I’d finish up the backlog of mail in a couple of hours which he thought was a good idea. Then I walked back to barracks for an hour or two of badly needed sleep. When I awoke I was…_still in the battalion mailroom!_ I’d never left. I had to pull an Ebeneezer Scrooge and ask a passerby in the hallway what day it was (it was not, however, Christmas Day).
