I’ve decided to be truthful. Deception is not my better ability. Y’all may have noticed I spill my guts alot on the Dope. I don’t pretend to understand why I do this. I just know I do it. I must tell all. There’s a channel on TV we watch alot. In the early afternoon there are 2 episodes of Andy Griffith. I love, love, love Andy. I know. I previously loved Matt Dillon. I had to break up with him. Kitty had her claws in him. The wench! I have to say Helen Crump the school teacher has to go. She’s just in my way. Opie can go to boarding school. Aunt Bea can hang around. I like her cooking. I love love love Andy. He’s my favorite. All-time favorite. Be still my heart. ---

I’ll never forget Helen’s speech to her niece about how sometimes girls need to intentionally lose to boys in sports so that you don’t damage their fragile egos. I get that it was a different time. But even for then it seemed way over the top. ---

Still remember the end of one episode. Opie was having some kind of trouble with a girl; everything works out in the end. Last scene of the show, Andy and Opie are sitting on the porch (or maybe in the kitchen), drinking a soda. Opie: Ya know what I learned about girls? Andy: What? Opie: Nuthin’. Andy: Me neither. ---
