Nope, it’s totally a [weeping angel](http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/monster/images/6/67/Weeping-angel-3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100630022555). The resemblance is so striking I think the sculptor must have intended it. ---

Revived the thread to post [this NPR story](http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/08/05/488386630/a-new-lucille-ball-statue-replaces-scary-one-in-her-hometown?utm_medium=RSS&utm_campaign=news). The new sculpture is only shown from the side, but seems a wee bit less horrifying to me. ---
