I haven’t been on this board for long, and haven’t made many posts. I’ve certainly never pitted any poster, so this is my first time! (deep breath) HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, vesyachkin, you’re an ASS! I went back and read some of your posts. In one post you reveal that you never had any rules as a child. You go on to regale us with the fact that you use ecstasy and steroids, at least that’s as far as I got, and how you’re pretty much an insufferably foolish, stupid jerkwad, online and in real life. I bet you’re of the mind that “hey, _I_ didn’t have any rules to follow as a kid, and I turned out okay”. You sound like a real loser, kid. In one of your posts you say something to the effect that if you keep living like you do, you won’t live past 40. As much as I love the SDMB, I’ve come to appreciate the darwinian nature of the Something Awful forums. First of all, the $10 registration fee tends to weed out almost all of the fucktards. After that, natural selection kicks in. If you screw up, you’re banned and have to pay $10 to reregister. If you don’t pay attention to the rules, you’re banned. If you’re a one-trick-pony, you’re banned. If you generate drama, you’re banned. If you REALLY manage to annoy the administrators, scam someone in the for-sale forums, or in some way endanger the boards, you’re perma-banned. This leads to a culture of well-behaved newbies, posters that are NOT idiots, and those who quickly learn from their mistakes. Oh how I love it. ---

There’s a messageboard sponsored by a magazine in southern Maryland. I joined, thinking it would be a good resource to find out about the area - you know, getting suggestions for doctors and dentists, good places to eat out, where to get good deals on stuff - that sort of thing. While I can find some of that if I search hard enough, I’ve discovered it’s more of a chatroom atmosphere where just about every thread devolves into a flirtfest. It’s dominated by a few posters who seem to appear and redirect every conversation. And then there’s the racism and homophobia… I quit participation pretty quickly, and except for the occasional search, I avoid it altogether. The SDMB has spoiled me. ---
