I was listening to NPR this morning, and some guy came on chatting about pay increases for CEOs, and how they’re ridiculous, and bad, blah blah blah. He’s probably right, but at that moment I just didn’t care. But he had the sexiest English accent, and I listened the whole way to work, just to hear his voice. Ah me. :o ---

When you’ve lived there, the novelty wears right off. 😉 British accents are nice in a general sort of way (no better/worse than any other), but the only one that will turn my head is a Yorkshire accent (or accents from thereabouts) – and only because it reminds me of where I used to live. (Yes, I love watching repeats of _All Creatures Great and Small_. 🙂 ) ---

Ahh, well my dear you just have to come over some night for a glass of wine, we can listen to a little tchaicovsky, bring your man, he and I can have a swill of whisky while you and my good lady friend have a chat, oh I say, you are married of course? What? No? Well, then I have a lovely nephew who’d be awfully glad to come across a fine lady such as yourself, I’ll speak to my sister and we’ll have the two of you over tomorrow night. ---

While I do enjoy a good generic BBC newscaster type accent, I must say that I love Scottish accents. I’d rethink my sexual preferences for a good Scottish accent. Rowr! ---

I worked for a very short period with a guy from the Bristol area. He had the loveliest accent. He also had salt & pepper hair and beard and golden eyes. He also had the strange trait of thinking exactly like I do, to the point that one of us would say something that the other had been thinking. I had the biggest crush on him.
