# I may have a job in France!

So I’ve been talking to a nice lady about a possible au pair job. Today she emailed me and offered me a position with her family in Eastern France/Switzerland (she’s moving to that area, hasn’t chosen a town yet).
I’m very excited, needless to say. Yay! I applied for my passport a couple of weeks ago, the woman said they usually take six-to-eight weeks to come in. Gulp! But the job isn’t until November, so I have lots of time to get my paperwork together. I also need to get a Long-Term Stay Visa.
One question, if anyone knows the answer: I’ve been told that to au pair in France, you have to be a current student (in the USA). Is this so? I know you’re supposed to enroll in French classes while there, which I have no problem with, but I’ve been in Americorps the past six months, though I did college for a year and a half beforehand. Help, I’m so confused!

Don’t worry.
Your boyfriend will catch up with you at the airport, declare his love for you, and even though you board the plane, you will call him and leave a message on his answering machine that you love him too and get off the plane and meet him at his apartment.
Then you will say farewell to your friends who are moving to the country with their new adopted twins and have one last cup of coffee together.
(Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Good luck with your new job! It sounds like fun! How old are the kidlets?)

I’m going to accept the job – I could still use some advice regarding a visa. And living in France. And au pairing. Ect. I’ll probably blog about it, but I won’t be leaving for months yet.
