I met a Pit Bull Terrier today.....

I can’t help if you run with an illiterate crowd, dude. The word is value neutral. Now point me to all those anit-Yorkie and Poodle laws and tell me how Christians who self identify as apologist are like fascists

I frankly find several of the pit-bull apologists who write in this thread and others to be so incorrectly convinced of their own reason, so perfectly happy to throw unfounded accusations of ignorance and bias at their opponents, and so unwilling to try to understand a nuanced argument that they’re not worth arguing with. They interpret this as my walking away from the thread, which kind of confirms my opinion of them.

But Todderbob, if you’re wanting to suggest connotation, a good place to look is a simple Google search for a term. Look at results for “apologists.” Some of the sites are certainly using the term pejoratively–but plenty of others are not. The word has multiple connotations. You’re overly quick to take offense here. Naja’s comparison of the term to “baby-killer” is not an unusually weird argument for to make, but it’s a ridiculous one.

I don’t care which side of the argument you’re on, that’s funny.
We spent quite a bit of time trying to explore your “nuanced” argument, just four weeks ago… did you already forget?

The fact that you think I just described myself and not you is both thoroughly predictable and part of the pattern I’m talking about. Funny indeed.

Sweet cheeks, I know you were describing me. That’s what makes it so funny.
If you weren’t referring to your own participation in these two threads with your comments about my having blindly dismissed or woefully misunderstood your fabulous, intricate, “nuanced arguments” and

then yup, I guess you got me there. Is my problem with semantics interfering with proper understanding of your use of the word “my”?

Suffice it to say, I did not intend “apologist” to be a pejorative and the only thing that has to be contested before it is conceded is an election - a point may be conceded from the outset.

:D:D:D

By the way, did I ever tell you how much I love your dog’s name?

Does this look like the dog you are talking about?

If so, you are not talking about a pit bull, but an English bull terrier with some unique characteristics.

You’ll never hear or read about these dogs killing or maiming humans. They are naturally well socialized with humans, but not with other dogs.

Love!
We’re hoping to get a female bullie maybe this next year :). Our meathead needs a pal, and I’ve wanted one more or less my entire life.
