Entire periods of glacial activity wax and wane between incidences of me launching Internet Explorer (I think I have version 5?) but I’m happy to report that the newfangled QuickReply works fine with Shiira. [QUOTE] pretending to quote someone [QUOTE] **bold** _italic_ 🙂 ---

Doesn’t work for me. It just assumes I’m hitting the Quote button. Must be a Firefox thing. ---

The only thing that doesn’t work is the four “buttons” above the edit box – the Bold, Italic, Underline, and Quote buttons. But since I usually put the tags in for these manually, I don’t see it as a drawback. ---

Just for the record, I have a Quick Reply box at the foot of every thread page. Yep, that’s how it’s supposed to work. Directly below and at far right of this very post, you should see, just to the right of the greyish-blue “reply” button, an unlabled icon that looks like a sheet of paper with an arrow (sort of like the arrow on a shortcut or alias icon). Click that and the text “Please click one of the Quick Reply icons in the posts above to activate Quick Reply” should disappear and your cursor should end up in the QuickReply box. ---

You have to click one of the quick reply icons on one of the posts. The grayed text will disappear, and a cursor will appear for typing. ---

I like the new box. Ahem. But it has raised the occurance of one of my pet peeves on this board: quoting a giant post to add a one-line reply. ---
