I also forgot one of the best resturants i have ever eating at…Fuddruckers…One in Canada and I am not even close to it…mmmmmm 1 lb burgers…sides of beef hanging in the window as you walk in. ---

… sitting on my grandmother’s lap, listening to her tell stories or sing songs … returning to our NV classroom after a traumatic day and having twelve people tease me back into good humor … believing in Santa Claus … summers at the lake … lullabyes … Sunday mornings, drinking bad coffee in the church kitchen, before our kindergartners arrived for religious ed class … feeling safe while walking through the forest … swing sets … my family and my friends from home … believing I had something special to offer the world … watching the stars … not being so self-conscious … getting excited about my birthday … driving around aimlessly with my friends ---

being able to eat whatever I wanted and not gain any weight. roadtrips with my college friends on weekends (or weeknights…to heck with CLASSES). my babies Sunshine and Domino. riding my bike, playing freeze tag, hide and go seek, and not coming home till the sun came down, all hot and sweaty and exhausted. sleepovers. the excitement of Christmas and birthdays. ---

… being 8 years old on a winter’s afternoon, when you look up into the sky and it’s one uniform color of grey, the snow is coming down so thick and heavy that everything is a little vague and blurry. The sounds are muted and quiet that you can hear your friends laughing and playing, but as soon as you go around the corner it’s silent, and you think that it’s going to be that way forever. I miss trying to catch the snowflakes on your tongue. _(Actually, I still do this, I just get a lot of werid looks. I miss when I could do it and look around and see everyone **else** doing it too.)_ I miss the feeling that on the last day of school, that summer vacations were going to last forever and the first day of school is a concept as abstract and remote as being a ‘grown up’. ---
