Watching Olivia De Havilland on TCM’s Errol Flynn documentary, and she looks smashing, at 89 (well, probably 88 when it was filmed). Love her hair, I wish I could achieve a perfect chignon like that. Livvy and I have been in touch off and on since she got me in touch with Irene Selznick a few years back, and she really is a sweetheart. _Billy Joel_ once offered me his coat when it looked like I wasn’t going to be admitted to a local bar because I was wearing a sleeveless T-shirt. He didn’t need to in the end, and Mrs. Lacha & myself sat with him supping beer for an hour or so, discussing music and pianos and what-not. Speaking of Mrs. Lacha, she has seen _Dallas Ernst_ (wife of deceased artist _Jimmy Ernst_ and daughter-in-law of deceased artist _Max Ernst_) NEKKID! Never a dull moment with us, I’ll tell ya… ---

I have met twice with the distinguished author **Eve Golden**. I have her book on Anna Held and, last week during a funeral procession, passed Held’s grave in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and thought of Eve. What? OK, OK… I sat right behind my buddy **Mel Brooks** while we were both being smarties and seeing THE TORCH BEARERS at the Barrow St. Theater in 2000. Mom and I ran into **Donald Trump** , accompanied by only one aide, in the actual lobby of The Trump Building. You know, the one with the lobby where 1985 lives forever! I met both Cardinals Cooke and O’Connor, which is probably only really 🆒 if you’re Catholic. ---

Since I personally don’t have any names to drop I’ll honor my parents droppings. When my mother was young she had tea with \*\*Albert Einstein \*\* and his aunt. She lived in Princeton, was selling flowers door to door and was invited in. My dad worked in a record shop and once gave \*\*The Andrew Sisters \*\* a small tour around Pittsburgh. From what I heard he was in his **glory**. ---

My father was on the History Channel when they did a special on the _Hunley_. He helped in the disinterment of one of the crewmen’s relatives who’s buried here in Pittsburgh. (For DNA testing). One of my professors in college is close friends with Sergei Kruschev, son of Nikita. ---

My second-grade teacher met **Carl Sandburg** when he came to West Virginia. I met **President Bush** in 2002 (he pronounced my unconventional foreign name correctly). I grew up in the 70’s not more than 200’ across a vacant lot from **Jean Seberg’s** parents house, and frequented their neighborhood pharmacy often (they had a great selection of candy.) I have no idea if I ever actually met her, or if she even even visited, let alone lived, in that house. ---

The part of my family tree (-in-law) I have memorized: My maternal grandfather’s brother married **Jimmy Stewart** ’s sister. Say it three times fast and all you hear is “Jimmy Stewart” and it sounds really cool. I never met him but got to know my great-uncle pretty well, and about 10 years ago, he gave my sister Jimmy’s real-life home address (not sure if she wrote him). We thought it was funny that his ZIP code was 90210. ---

I know a bunch of people who know famous people (I mean a crapload: a lot of people in another online community are in the entertainment industry), but don’t know any myself. However, one of the people I know has been nominated for an Oscar in an obscure category, which she didn’t win. ---

Former Senator Chuck Robb Former Governor Gerald Baliles Former CIA Director William Webster and Now Deceased Supreme Court Justice Lewis Powell were all people I had business dealings with on a fairly regular basis. Which pales in comparison to having sex with Nina Hartley. ---
