Anyone know of a good database where I can type in a song and find out what versions there are and what albums I can find them on. I am tired of buying an album for the one song a like when it may be on a compilation album where there are many songs I enjoy. Anyone know of a site that could help me? Blockbuster Music used to have this type of database in their stores, but they went out of business in my area. I know the Dopers can help me! ---

Hmm. I haven’t checked out my reccomendation, The Ultimate Band List, in a while. I still think it’s a pretty good site, but on looking at it again, it doesn’t seem to really suit exactly what you’re looking for. Sorry! ---

Heh – I opened this thread to tell you to try [allmusic.com](http://allmusic.com), but pldennison beat me to it. Another good one is [cdnow.com](http://www.cdnow.com). You can order CDs/Albums/Tapes through them directly, and even hear sample clips of a lot of the songs. ---
