I need a root canal treatment

Did the dentist talk to you about pain control?

I had a plane and scale a few years ago. It was before Hubster developed Parkinson’s so he drove me. The periodontist did all 4 quadrants at once. I was all in favor of that. Anyway I had 2 Valium for it. It wasn’t pleasant, but it wasn’t too bad either. I told Hubster, “You know I could drive home if I had to.” Then I took the napkin off my mouth and said, " It looks like a Rorschach print. See!" He rolled his eyes and told me to get in the car.

I’ve definitely heard of people eating pineapple, preferably raw but canned is also OK, around the time of dental extractions, due to the healing properties of bromelains.

My previous dentist told me he loves Grape-Nuts.

Had the root treatment today. The endodontist complained the roots were very long and narrow with a curve at the end, and she had to use 10 different brushes when normally 4 are enough. I do recall that the guy who did my first root canal (now retired) said I had ‘difficult roots’ too. That was a major reason I wanted to go back to an endodontist rather than let my dentist attempt the job.

After filling the roots, she took an x-ray and seemed worryingly unsure whether everything was correct. Hopefully it’s all fine. Unfortunately she seems to have left the new filling too high in the middle, so I’m having real trouble chewing, even on the opposite side. Might have to go back to my own dentist to get it ground down lower, and also need to get a crown as soon as it settles. It’s a real downer, I just want this to be over and to be able to eat normally again. :frowning:
