I already messaged you as I went through something similar recently. My ex, who had MS, but we always got back together, died in Sept. and I found out by calling the nursing home. It was a shock. When we know our loved ones are dying, we can somewhat mentally prepare. You have many good memories. You may even get a “sign” eventually and that helps. It also helps to know the suffering has ended. Many hugs to you. It didnt occur to me to post my loss here as I figured no one cares much for me, but we all love you and send online hugs. ---

I may have had disagreements with you, but it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t care if you were hurting. Empathy is one of the things that may get @pjd and heck, a whole lot more of us through the next few weeks/months/years. For people who are willing to share empathy for others, which I’m sure all in this thread are doing, even if I/we have our moments where we’re uncharitable. I’m still ok thanks ! Just got back from a band practice which was good. Just soldiering on. My partner arranged her own cremation last year so there won’t be any funeral as such, so I’ve been arranging a wake in a local pub for friends and family. My few friends and family have been checking in and keeping me occupied. Sometimes I feel guilty that I’m not more depressed, but I know it was a blessing. Her life was pretty miserable and she wanted to go. And you dopers have been wonderful, Thank you all. ---
