Hi, I’m doing ok thanks EG ! There’s still a lot of work to do, but I’m taking it as it comes and trying to do normal things to keep my mind occupied (coming here, doing Wordle, looking after Meave (the cat) etc !). Sarah arranged her own cremation (!) so there’s no ceremony or funeral as such, but we’re having a wake next week. Then there’ll be the legal paperwork - inheritance taxes etc. Don’t suppose there will be much of that. (How the hell are you supposed to value all of someone’s assets (stuff !) ? I’m tempted to pull a number out of thin air and see if anyone queries it !) ---

Hi @Dung_Beetle ! Thanks for asking. I’m still [chugging along](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Chugging+Along). (not to be confused with “[chugging](https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/chugging)” !) Were holding a wake tomorrow (Saturday) - ie friends and family meeting for a party in a pub ! I sorted out some photos of Sarah to include in a slide show (that was hard). Still got to go through her stuff. That will also be hard, I will just do it as and when I feel strong enough. It’s tempting to just leave everything as it was… ---

Celebrating the good memories with like minded folks sounds like a great way to remember without a heavy burden. I’m sure I don’t have to say it (but I will anyway Just in Case) but it’s easy in those circumstances to drink more than intended or realized, so make sure you all have some designated drivers or Uber/Lyft/etc. options available. ---

My deepest condolences. I have some idea what you’re going through. Twenty years ago my dear Patti succumbed to sudden-onset Parkinson’s dementia, and I still miss her. One of the things that helped sustain me during that time was the support of my fellow Dopers. ---
