It’s not the normal request for good wishes and prayers and friendly vibes. My FIL is dying. His heart is failing, he’s in massive pain, his painkillers are all maxed out, and he wants to die. If you have any thoughts to spare, please hope that he finds peace soon. Thank you. ---

Thank you. Right now I’m sitting at home in Ohio hoping to get a call that he’s died in Kentucky. I can’t even wrap my head around the fact that I’m hoping he dies tonight. He’s in such pain. Thank you for understanding. ---

My mother used to work at a store that sold maternity clothes and accessories. Her manager, Jane, had an elderly, chronically ill mother. After hearing one of Jane’s many recountings of the woman’s struggles, Erma (an employee who had emigrated from Germany and maintained an accent) was moved to remark: “It vould be a blessing if old lady vould just die in her sleep.” Sounds as if it would be a blessing for all concerned if “old gentleman were to die in his sleep”. My thoughts are with you, **jsgoddess**. If you’re off the boards for a few days, we’ll understand. Please post an update when you can. ---

Have you contacted hospice? My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. ---
