That’s commitment.
I recommend looking for a used Leap chair by 3M. I got rid of mine when I moved and regret it daily. I’m always on the lookout for a replacement.
The Herman Miller Aeron chair. Pricey, but fantastic.
Like said above: Fit is a matter of trying out. However, a waiting room is different, as the furniture will be used by many different people in there. Ikea Business has a wide range, that comes with years of warranty and is good quality. And they are willing to ship.
Try their leather modular sofa’s or their line of visitors chairs.
If you are looking for easy cleaning, you might want to look into suspended chairs. Less legs, faster vacuuming. But Ikea doesn’t have those.
If price is no object, I recommend looking at chairs sold by Relax the Back. I have the Lifeform Ultimate Executive and it’s wonderful (but expensive).
I think you mean by Steelcase, not 3M. I bought one new directly from Steelcase at list price and don’t regret it.
I just clicked on GameHat’s Markus link.
Uh. The Summer of Love just called. It wants it’s chair back.
I got one of these two years ago, and I love it. It’s perfectly comfortable and it’s only $45. Mine is white, but they come in all sorts of colors. The worst thing I can say about it is that the little screws that hold the seat to the base will eventually work their way loose (not all at once), but that’s easily fixed.
Oh my God, the Herman Miller Aeron chair! Thanks to KQED, I know all about the colors of the Herman Miller Aeron chair including Sit 4 Less True Black!
The Herman Miller Aeron is the Holy Grail of desk chairs. I’ve had mine for six years and don’t know how I ever lived without it!
I work from home and I play computer games so my office chairs comfort level is very important. I also have a knee chair that I switch into when I’m doing an extensive amount of document creation, it’s more comfortable when I’m leaning forward but for 90% of the day -
I’m on my second Obus forme office chair.
First one lasted over 10 years and this one is 3 yrs old now and still going strong and it gets a lot of use.
I bought a really nice office chair at a used office-furniture outlet, for use at my computer desk. It murdered my back, constantly aching, no matter how many of the infinite-variable adjustments I made to it. I finally pushed it aside, and grabbed a plastic stackable camp chair, the kind you get at WalMart for 3.97. It’s perfect, I can sit at for hours on end, without ever feeling a twinge of discomfort. I’ve been using it now for eight years. I have to lift it by the arms to get up of move or adjust position, but it only weighs a pound, so no big deal. No cushion, but I have a Spine-aline pillow propped against the back for lumbar.
(Honest, folks, this just showed u p on my menu of recent topics – I did not zombie it. I have no idea what happened to the posts before mine.)
I have a Markus, and I’m pleased to see that today’s exchange rate I didn’t grossly overpay for it like I do for so many other things in China.
It’s no Steelcase, but it’s a damned nice chair.
I personally have given up on chairs no matter how nice they feel while I sit on them in the show room. I now sit on a 75cm ball.
I recently started a new job, and thought the chair was far better than average. 1 month later, I am completely crippled and will be taking the ball in on Monday. It would’ve gone in today, but I ordered a new one, and AWS Prime didn’t make the delivery date so Monday it is.
Marelt, do you use just a ball or do you have one of those conversion kits with the wheel base and back rest? I’ve tried the ball, but I always needed the wheel base at least to keep it stable (forget I’m sitting on a ball and try to scoot to another part of the office) I always liked this type of chair myself.
