One of my cats is a very old lady (almost 18). I don’t know if it’s senility or what, but she has recently decided that at dawn’s crack, it is TIME FOR HER TO GO OUTSIDE, which she lets me know by yowling in a gawd-awful manner. Repeatedly. She’s got food, and a generally clean litter box – she just wants to inhale some fresh air. I’ve tried trying to do the “feign sleeping” thing but it just doesn’t work. She knows I hear her. I try to ignore her because gosh, I’m obviously a night person based on the time of this post, so I usually end up yelling at her to SHUT UP! But I don’t think she hears me because, well, she’s almost 18 and I think she’s deaf. Maybe she’s just sending out a cat sonar to figure out where I am?
