>
> FWIW, the only thing I find really offensive about **JohnC’s** posts is the way he puts down his wife in public, and how he airs intimate details about their relationship that should remain private. That kind of thing’s utterly disrespectful. OTOH, it does appear that his wife’s just as crazy as he is, and doesn’t know better than to just put up with it. The two seem to be made for each other – like they each found someone really special. Which, of course, makes me jealous.

Has he really violated her privacy though? He hasn’t posted pictures of her, we don’t know her name, or even have a good idea of what she looks like. We know that they have a pretty unhealthy relationship, and that they absolutely should not have children, but I couldn’t really identify her.

As for him, we know he’s not American, and may be Australian, but that’s about it.

I think that if we ban everyone who overshares, the number of new posts would be halved in MPSIMS, but I also loathe rules targeted at one individual. If you don’t care to read what he posts, don’t read it and don’t open his threads.

I hope he gets stuck in a hole full of a thousand clones of himself, because as annoying and pathetic as he is just think how bad a thousand of him would be.

Also being in the hole would suck.

Seems fair. I wonder if the mods would allow a thread like that.

I suppose different people get irritated by different things. For me, it’s posts from the normalest of normal people, written in cutesy language about what their cat did, or what they’re having for dinner. But when they irritate me, I realize that’s an entirely unreasonable reaction, so I should probably keep my mouth shut instead of going into their threads purely to annoy myself and post disparaging threadshits.

> …However it appears that most of the time, you do not understand many of the unwritten rules of societal behavior. Or perhaps you do understand them, but don’t understand the value of following them so you deliberately ignore them.

Yeah that’s true about unwritten rules. I only learnt in the year 2000 that sometimes people tell you to do incredibly stupid things for a laugh and you shouldn’t always obey them.
It was after that that I learnt that if someone offers an excuse for not meeting up and doesn’t offer an alternative then they probably don’t want to meet. I just believed their excuse. I actually learnt that by reading a book.
I have books to thank for learning a lot of things. e.g. the importance of eye contact.
Like my earlier thread said, apparently good decisions come from experience and experience comes from bad decisions. It could also come from reading self-help books. Since my first introspective thread was met with a lot of supportive replies I became encouraged. It seems the unwritten rule is that my threads are ok initially but not if I keep on starting them.

I’ve found self-help books have helped depression/being suicidal… perhaps by improvement you mean being less annoying but I’m talking about being more content.

I think the crappy things I’ve done have decreased… though I think I think the negative responses has increased because people keep on bringing up all the crappy things I’d done in the past.

It happens when those new thoughts are off topic for the original thread and it seems that people often just read the OP and not all of the later posts I’ve written.

The thing is that if each topic I’m talking about has a thread, the thread title can summarize the content. But if there was a single thread which had my topics all over the place and filled with replies by other people it would be hard to know what all of the my thoughts are about since you’d have to read it all rather than just look at some thread titles.

Well, I think what matters is, does your wife have a problem with you posting this stuff online? If so, then yeah, you are violating her privacy, whether it’s anonymous or not.

</div>

Why would you consider your wife a 5? That’s so mean spirited. I consider my wife an 11 in comparison, and that’s not just blowing smoke. Everyone in my family and circle of friends has also commented how beautiful she is. This is because she puts effort in her appearance, which also translates into her efforts in her education and unbridled ambition in her career. Had she had been a 5, my family wouldn’t have gone out of there way to compliment on her appearance, since it would come off as very patronizing.

So by calling your wife a 5 and talking about her gunt, you make it sound like you have low standards. Other posts like whether you might be gay bring all this ambiguity into your relationship.

What’s so bad about low standards? I think it is better than being alone.

Previously physical appearance was the main thing. I remember telling a mental health worker that one of my goals was the love of a beautiful woman - and I mean an objectively hot woman e.g. from the Dr Hook song “When You’re In Love With A Beautiful Woman”

The entire product was named based on hellish references. It’s one of the things that made it so stupid. But it was a fully explicit and intentional naming scheme. You didn’t crack some code.

It would be like if I started a thread where I announced that I caught Apple naming the various version of OS X after cats. Cheetah, Puma, Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion. HMMMM You think maybe Apple was trying to subliminally make us think about cats? Too bad for them I was too smart and noticed the pattern.
