If the rate is low enough, it could be used for arbitrage it if the math works out for a certain investment vehicle.

Congratulations on the achievement, now in general do they still have thirty year mortgages for houses , or is this strictly an american thing ?

We still have 30-year mortgages stateside. **Only Mostly Dead** and I just started on a 30 year fixed and a 15/15 second mortage (low-ish rate for the first 15 years, then it baloons to crazy rate if you don’t refinance by then) since we bought our first house in July.

We both envy you, **Baker**!
