I own a Wii. I was really trying to avoid the whole Beatle’s Rock Band thing. The other day in the K-Mart electronics area, they had every TV running a promo for the damn game. I heard “Here Comes the Sun” with the buttons running at the bottom of every TV screen. Now, I’m super interested in it (I own 5 Beatles albums, I love their stuff). I wouldn’t mind the cartoony graphics of the Wii at all, I’d just love to jam to those old classics. How much am I looking at spending? No way I’m blowing $250 for a guitar, drum, and game cd (via the Beatle’s exclusive package). I’ve checked out the other thread from (Quasi?), and everyone seemed to recommend buying guitar hero for $60 or so, then buying the Beatle’s one (for the equipment). You’re talking $130-140 there, and that might be out of my price range, are there any other options? ---

It depends entirely on what you want to do… If you want the full band experience, buy a Rock Band 2 bundle and a standalone copy of The Beatles: Rock Band. That’ll run you about $200. If you just want a guitar and The Beatles: Rock Band, you can buy used guitars in the $20-$30 range, so your final cost should be $90 or so. ---

What about the [Beatles Rock Band Special Edition?](http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Beatles-Rock-Special-Value-Nintendo/dp/B002I7A832/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1253192255&sr=8-3) $140 from Amazon and comes with guitar, microphone, and drums, just not the special Beatles ones. ---

There’s also the [Beatles RockBand: Special Value Bundle](http://tinyurl.com/lo47h6) which goes for $140 and comes with all the instruments (though only one guitar, not two) and the game itself, just not the Beatles replica guitar and branded drums. (Not sure if the mic has something special about it too.) ---

You’re right, I forgot about the Value Edition. Although, if this bothers you, the instruments packed in that are the ones developed for Rock Band 1, which are apparently not as sturdy as the instruments included in the Rock Band 2 bundle. ---
