It’s still sitting on the shelf, as I currently don’t have any tables with uneven legs that need propping up. The others I’ll get to… er… “one of these days” (famous last words). Just waiting for that Round Tuit… Some of those were picked up only recently – I keep an eye on the used DVD racks at the local Blockbuster stores, especially when they run “buy 2 get one free” deals – usually try to pick them up when they are marked down to 9.99 (the lowest price that most of the DVDs reach on the used racks). ---

I’ve seen all these, but usually on TV, and I pretty much bought the DVD’s on principle (hey, I like that!) rather than to actually watch: Wargames True Lies Heathers Armageddon Amelie Tron I should also throw in The Stand, which I bought, watched once, and never plan on looking at again. ---

Glancing up at the shelf, I own and have never seen: _Romeo + Juliet_ _Hamlet_ (Olivier’s) _Adaptation_ _Manon of the Spring_ _Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust_ More disturbing to me are the movies that I’ve seen although I have never actually watched the DVD that I own. A sampling: _Strictly Ballroom_ _Reservoir Dogs_ _Tomorrow Never Dies_ _12 Angry Men_ _The American President_ _Get Shorty_ _Chasing Amy_ _Apollo 13_ _Donnie Darko_ _Ghostbusters_ _Bend It Like Beckham_ and quite a few others … :smack: ---

I need an explanation for why I own movies, movies I love, but never watch them. But then they come on TV and I watch them, even with commercials and full-screen and edited-for-TV. Why don’t I just pop in the movie? StG ---

My brother gave me a copy of **Blade Runner** years and years ago - because he’d noticed I didn’t have it in my collection [of SF vids]. This is probably because I _hate_ the \*ucking film, but I didn’t tell him that, I thanked him profusely. And it’s still in it’s box, unwatched. I think it’s the Director’s Cut, (someone get him a Band-Aid!) which is supposed to be less crap than the theatrical cut. ---

I have the boxed set of I, CLAUDIUS that I have not watched. I also have the boxed set of THE BEATLES that I have not even taken the shrink wrap off of. What is it with box sets anyway? ---

Most of my unwatched DVDs have “III” in the title. I have a bit of a “completeness” fetish, so I have to have _Jurassic Park I, II, and **III**._ Same goes for several other trilogies. I also tend to try to complete actor’s sets, with things like the complete _Man With No Name"/Clint Eastwood_ set, etc. The end result is a lot of unwatched DVDs. Not to mention the “grab it cuz it looks interesting and it’s cheap” runs through WallyWorld! 😃 ---

I’m too cheap to buy a movie and then not watch it. I like to rent them and _then_ not watch it. See, it’s cheaper! :dubious: Right now I have an overdue copy of **Big Fish** by the TV that we need to finish watching, maybe the last 15 minutes. Having kids can do this to you, but lately I just get tired of things and don’t care. I enjoyed the **Big Fish** , but for some reason I just can’t press that \ button. One day, far in the future most likely, I will have some kind of home theatre set up. I enjoy watching movies on the big screen, but if I can get close to that feeling at home, I’ll do it. ---

Yes, it is one hell of a lot better, mostly because they cut out that horrible voiceover by Ford! And the ending- IIRC, the director’s cut ends with the elevator door shutting on Ford and Young as they leave his apartment building after finding the origami- ambiguous (will Olmos get them or not? When will she die?) and better than the stupid happy ending in the original. Worth a look, even if you disliked the first one. And I still lust after Frank Langella, fat balding and old or not, based on the 1979 version of Dracula that he did. Mmmmm, sexiest vampire ever… I even found him hot in _The Ninth Gate_. ---

We fell victim to the syndrome after my wife joined the Disney club and we joined the Media Play club (ohhhhh, look in the flyer, it’s 2 for $20!). We even drew up a list of movies we want to buy. It’s at about 260. So far, we’ve bought and haven’t seen: The Big Lebowski The Godfather I, II and III The Man With Two Brains Sleepy Hollow/Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride (Disney) I’m sure there’s more. ---
