Hooray! The [results](http://www.ble.state.tx.us/Results/current.htm) came out earlier than I thought they would. While I still have to be formally sworn in, I’m now for all practical purposes licensed in two states, New York and Texas. Now all I need [is a job](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=145212). New York Dopers who would like to buy me a drink are encouraged to drop me an email. 😃 ---

Congrats. The more we Illum. . . errrr lawyers get involved in every aspect of society, the better. **ppg\_shg** , who is a friend of mine, and plays in numerous SDMB Dip games is a Dallas lawyer. Perhaps he can give you a job hunting assist. You do securities and M&A work, right? ---

The gal I was paired with was from Long Island, born and bred, and hadn’t really lived anywhere outside of the NYC area. She had read on the summer associate bio sheet that I was from Texas. She was really disappointed when I walked into the office – she really expected the whole boots and hat and belt buckle combo.
