Your position on this is well established. And has zero to do with whether a specific Green Party member endorsing both “anti-Zionism” and terrorism and Jew hate, is a “speed bump” … On this we may both agree - it doesn’t change your assessment of “anti-Zionism” and it doesn’t change mine, or likely anyone else’s assessment in this thread or maybe anywhere. ---

It can’t hit “speed bumps” when it isn’t going anywhere, and there is no amount of bloviating by Western useful idiots that will accomplish the Anti Zionist goal of getting rid of Israel. This wasn’t a speed bump; it was a moment when the mask slipped. Although this particular mask slip reminds me a bit of the meme where a man in a Hitler mask takes off their mask to reveal that it was really Hitler all along. Others believe Zionism means Smotrich/Ben-Gvir Zionism (or Netanyahu Zionism), and thus requires, or allows, ethnic cleansing and/or genocide… in that sense, I’m anti-Zionist, as I imagine you and every other decent person is. ---

You imagine correctly. But asking rhetorically for a friend… How many times is the right number of times that someone has to condemn the fascist and fascist-enabling elements of the current Israeli government to finally be accepted as a “decent person” in polite society? I do not feel the inclination to switch labels to fit in with the mood of times. You see, I can both condemn settlers and other ethno-fascists and still have both feet planted firmly in the camp of Zionists who believe Israel, as a state, has a right to exist. Color me Zionist-classic, I guess. ---

Netanyahu is a criminal who belongs his jail; his attempts to “reform” the Judicial Branch are a naked power grab that if successful could destroy Democracy in Israel; and the rifts he has created and exploited in Israeli society are an enormous threat and directly contributed to the lack of readiness on Oct 7. If Netanyahu had one gram of decency, he would have resigned over his failure. But of course, he lacks that sort of decency entirely. ---
