I Pit Babale

The fact that you’re still defending him is very telling.

Wow, you don’t consider Lindbergh a trash human being for being a Nazi? That’s also very telling.

You know, you could just say “I was wrong about Platner”. It’s not that hard.

You really are fucking stupid.
Also, I’m dismissing your entire post since it’s a two sentence “drive by”.

Ok, Nazi-lover. Bye for now! :waving_hand:

Here’s an AI summary of things Republicans have said about Abdul El-Sayed:

  • Donald Trump: Referred to El-Sayed as a “jihadist”, mockingly and repeatedly called him “Mohammed”, and suggested that he would “have to go through a metal detector before he’s allowed to go into the Senate”. Trump also invoked the September 11 terrorist attacks in a verbal assault against him and claimed El-Sayed “hates Jews” while describing Wayne County as “strictly Third World”.
  • Ted Cruz: Described El-Sayed as “a theocratic zealot” and a “jihadist leprechaun,” claiming that his election would put American service members at risk because he would share national secrets with terrorist groups.
  • JD Vance: Stated at a campaign rally that El-Sayed is a figure who “wants to litigate ancient grievances” and is motivated by “the prospect of wielding the power of a country he hates,” potentially seeing the U.S. as “too white or too proud or too American”.
  • Republicans and Campaign Ads: Have repeatedly and unsubstantiatedly accused El-Sayed of being tied to the Muslim Brotherhood and claimed he would usher in Sharia law.
  • Right-Wing Media / Newsmax: A Newsmax anchor falsely labeled El-Sayed an immigrant, mocked his name, and disparaged his appearance. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

And then here’s Babs chiming in to say none of that counts (bolding mine):

If El Sayed loses in Michigan, it will be because he cast aside two of the most loyal Democratic voting blocks - Black and Jewish voters.

He would not, of course, learn from this. Instead, he would blame Islamophobia.

Do you think a lot of prospective Democratic voters are listening to things Republicans say about El Sayed?

Republicans also called Kamala Harris a communist because of her dad or whatever, but do you think any Democrats didn’t vote for her because of that?

Anyone who can be swayed by a braindead argument like “His name is Mohammed” was never voting for a Democrat to begin with.

Ellison is Jewish

Yes, probably some low-information dumbshits did vote against Kamala because of Trump’s various bigoted attacks on her. There are lots of reasons why she lost, but it would be stupid to claim that the unrelenting campaign of racist lies wasn’t one of the biggest. And the fact that a better candidate could have succeeded where she failed doesn’t mean that those lies were any less contemptible.

Besides, the problem now is precisely that an alleged Democrat is saying these things!

I’ll put this here rather than respond to the hijack in the Senate thread:

It’s great that you personally support Palestinian Statehood. Are you prepared to say that NOT supporting Palestinian Statehood should be disqualifying for US Senate candidates?

What, like a Kahanist or something? Yes, I wouldn’t want a Kahanist, or any other kind of one stater, anywhere near any kind of political power.

No, I’m talking about people who agree with Netanyahu that there should never be a Palestinian State. Or by extension, people who have not explicitly declared that American support for Israel should be conditioned on the Israeli government’s support for Palestinian Statehood, and the exclusion of extremists such as Netanyahu from the government?

Sure, I don’t think that people who accept the position on two states that Netanyahu had expressed after June 2026 should be US senators.

What the hell is this goal shift?

Ah.
