Someone tried to break into our home recently, which was rattling even though they didn’t get in (alarm scared them off, I assume) and did minimal damage. So, I sympathize as well. Minor bonus points for not including any Internet Tough Guy bullshit about how you wish you’d caught the perp in the act so you could go all Jackie Chan on his Obama-voting ass. Unfortunately you’ve already gotten a jillion demerits for past assholery, so it barely makes a dent in your decent-human-beingness deficit. But hey, baby steps! ---

You shouldn’t have been black and walking around in public. Can’t afford healthcare? You shouldn’t have gotten that pre-existing condition. You didn’t want your window broken? You should have had it better protected. I still have empathy for him for suffering vandalism, because I’m a decent human being. But I’m not going to express it to him, because he is unwilling to show empathy to anyone else. I’m not happy it happened to him, but he can fuck off if he’s looking for me to pat him on the head and say how sorry I am. And if he doesn’t understand why people are reacting the way they are to his whining, he’s a bigger idiot than people here are accusing him of.
