CAN’T YOU FCKING PEOPLE MAKE YOUR OWN REUBENS? FFS Or do you need “Americas Test Cooking” (sponsored by) or “Alton Brown” or “Kenji Alt” to make you believe you don’t know what a reuben is… Hellmans’ is shit, and has been for years. But in that case, does it really matter what brand? I once made a grilled cheese fried with mayo instead of butter just to try it out. I couldn’t taste “mayo”. ---

I recommend either drink less or drink more before posting. In ~60 years of feeding myself I have never made my own reuben. I don’t stock either corned beef nor pastrami. In a funny coincidence … At this moment, triggered by that thread, I’m sitting in a deli looking at the menu. And will order a rueben. For them to make for me. Sans mayo. ETA: ref @Just_Asking_Questions just below: Ketchup is _perfect_ on grilled cheese. And on patty melts. Neither sandwich is complete wo ketchup. Lots & lots of ketchup. ---

Hi LSL My dad had a 421B, family of pilots. One of the other things about reubens is what type of filler they use real Corned Beef should be plate/brisket. I have not found that where I live, it’s all top round ---
