Enough is enough! I’m tired of seeing [that subject line](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=355044) bumped up again and again, to the point now where there have to be people out there who haven’t looked at the thread but yet think somewhere in the back of their mind that Colin Farrell is a rapist who got away with it. Cartooniverse, I cut you a lot of slack because of your 9/11 posts, still among my favorite posts ever, but this has stretched my patience to the brink. I personally think you owe Colin Farrell an apology for dragging his name through the mud with no evidence whatsoever. Since that will never happen, I beg you to please PLEASE apologise to us for continuing to “stand by your OP” even after several people, myself included, had seen **The New World** and posted that there is **NO SEXUAL TOUCHING** in the movie. It’s not there. It’s not even _implied_. What’s not in the movie? No breast touching. No thigh touching. No buttocks touching. No french kissing. No open-mouthed kissing at all. No chest touching. No leg touching. No waist touching. None of those things are even IMPLIED. No “artful editing” is needed. What is in the movie? Back touching. Arm touching. Hand holding. Eye-gazing. Light kisses to the forehead, cheek and shoulder. One closed-mouth kiss between Christian Bale and Q’Orianka Kilcher. Man, if you’re not going to see the movie, and you’re not going to take the word of people who HAVE seen the movie, it would behoove you to not “stand by your OP” when you haven’t the faintest idea of what you’re talking about. ---

So why do you imagine that **Cartooniverse** is going to appear _here_ to defend himself if he didn’t do so in the other thread? :rolleyes: Look, I don’t have a horse in this race. I don’t even know who Colin Farrell is! Reading the other thread though gave me the impression that the general consensus was that Cartooniverse was talking out of his arse. Fine. Whatever. But given that the same condemnation as per the OP of this thread happened time and time again in the OTHER one, why the fuck would you need to rehash it? In other words, what ‘good’ will this pit thread accomplish that could or would not have been equally satisfied in the other thread? ---

That thread wasn’t originally in the Pit. IIRC, **'verse** does not do the Pit thang, so he’s unlikely to respond to any threads here. Or IOW, you’re pissing in the wind, Equipoise. Why not pit the people who are keeping that stupid trainwreck alive? ---

If I made a thread titled, “Why hasn’t **kambuckta** been arrested for the murder of his neighbor’s wife?” I’m making a strong implication that you _need_ to be arrested for the murder. The thread title would put into people’s minds the idea that you’ve done something wrong, even though I’m just talking out of my ass. Or on preview, what **Fionn** said. For **Cartooniverse** to make such a statement without anything to back it up is libelous. Remarks like that getting spread around could seriously hurt the actor’s reputation. ---
