Yes. Modern politics and modern communications has resulted in the unfortunate trend of apparent increased polarization. Unfortunately, without a major structural change it’s hard to see a way to reverse that. ---

Eh, sort of- it’s only a specific subspecies of bee, Apis cerana japonica- Japanese honey bees, and it’s not against all intruders. Something a similar size to themselves like a wasp, they’d just shred it (if they noticed it at all- often once they get past the guards, the other bees just assume they’re supposed to be there and ignore them), it’s for the giant Asian hornet that they use the balling defence where they cook it, as it’s way bigger than a bee, but its heat tolerance is lower than theirs. They do ball queens sometimes, but I’ve not heard that it’s a heat thing like with hornets, just a mobbing response. Can I ask for cites in the pit? I mean, it could be, I’ve just never seen any research on it and I’m curious now. ---
