Way to work racism into a rant about utensils, bro.

Clue by 4 guys.

He was making FUN of somebody in another thread who could at least be interpreted as being racist regarding their opinion of chopsticks and the yellow devils that use them.

Parody folks, parody.

it was fly catching in samurai movies long before that.

Oh, the actual food utensils. I use 'em. I like 'em.

Yes. And there’s probably a video of someone doing the joke too. I just picked something recognizable for an explanation.

In the future we’ll all swim around in breathable liquid environments, shit over suction intakes, and take our nutrition from processing plants underneath floating farms like aircraft being refueled in mid-flight. Your Western forks & spoons, Asian chopsticks and especially your Indian eating with unwebbed fingers will all seem so quaint.

Definitely no better way of eating wet noodles. And forks can’t “pinch” something worth a damn.

I can’t picture how chopsticks can possibly be better than a fork for spaghetti. Also, the best way to eat rice, and the way I eat it, is with a spoon (gasp!); I don’t see how even a fork can easily pick up rice, but then I prefer it to be non-sticky.

Spaghetti = noodles. Chopsticks win. I can pick up a single grain of rice with chopsticks if I have to. Good luck doing that with a fork.

The big problems with rice are we don’t serve it sticky ans we expect to eat it off of a plate. Both are stupid.

OK, but just how do chopsticks pick up noodles better than a fork? With a fork, you can stick it in and twist it a bit and a big hunk of noodles come up, usually too much for one bite, so I usually just stick the fork in and lift it, depending on the noodles. From a lifting perspective, a fork is basically several chopsticks placed side by side so it should work better.

Forks can’t grasp. Noodles can slip and slide off a fork’s tines, which is why the rolling method was developed. With chopsticks, you just grab a mouthful of noodles and bring them right to your mouth. There’s a lot more control there.

I worked at a Chinese restaurant when I was young and I learned how people (as in all of the Chinese cooks) eat rice/food with chopsticks…they either bend down next to the plate or bowl, or lift it to their mouth and shovel the rice and food forward with chopsticks into their mouths.

All of them ate this way.

You stick the chopsticks into the mass of noodles and you twist the chopsticks, akin to drawing a circle around the bowl, but by moving your wrist, not your whole arm. No problem at all. Friend of mine in Basic Training bet me that I couldn’t twist spaghetti noodles with chopsticks. I don’t bet, so I simply showed him how it’s done.
