It is [clear](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=13343538&postcount=22) that the trajedy in Tuscon could have been averted if Christina Taylor Green had been packing. She was born on 9/11, you think she would have known better. ---

Oh, for crying out loud. Nice strawman. Grow up, will ya? The massacre in Arizona may or may not have been avoided by lawful _adult_ citizens carrying arms; we will never know. None-the-less, it’s a fact lawful citizens carrying arms have stopped many threats, generally speaking. ---

So you are going to deny children the right to defend themselves? Why not have a My First Glock (in a pretty pink for girls)? If Tuscon has shown us anything, it’s that more guns are better. ---

Stupid OP but… Don’t you think in a crowded grocery parking lot, in Arizona, on any given day, there would be several armed citizens? And yet, it did not help stop this tragedy. ---

Look at the heat generated by just packing let alone what would come from using. Sometimes it isn’t worth it unless the bullets come your direction. ---
