I don’t recall much, if any, unpleasantness from US liberals when Reagan passed away. When Colin Powell dies we’ll nearly all say nice things (which will have nothing to do with his endorsement of Obama). We all liked John McCain until he ran a dirty campaign. Bush I will be openly mourned. Nobody had anything bad to say about Gerald Ford. Is that enough to be going on with? ---

Weak ass pitting. If you don’t realize how hard it is for those right of center to like or respect Ted Kennedy of all people, you don’t understand politics. How will you feel when Cheney kicks the bucket, are you going to give faint praise. Ted K has been the poster boy for liberals for 4 decades. Of course a large part of the country strongly disliked him or hated him. ---

Even those who have had to debate against him on the senate floor have liked and respected him. This board pledges to fight ignorance I thought it appropriate to pit such an ignorant comment. ---

He told how Teddy came to his apartment, told his KGB handlers to leave–WHICH THEY DID!–then told the guy that he’d try to get the guy’s family to the US for treatment. I could only think that the only way he could order the KGB out of the room was if he were high-ranking in the Soviet hierarchy. Or a Kennedy, and back in the 70s that name held an unimaginable amount of mojo the world over. I think this was the reason. ---
