I pit douchebags who insist on spewing their political agenda on Linked In

I can’t list the number of talented programmers I know who said the exact same thing about AT&T and IBM.

I can list all the people that were hired before me that worked here right up until they retired. And the people that were hired before or right after me, thnat still work here. it’s a large list.

And I hope it works out for you. I just know that for the longest if you were competent at your job, neither AT&T nor IBM would fire you.

At some point, even being excellent at your job wouldn’t protect you from the random finger of down-sizing.

LI is the single most boring social media experience in existence and using it beyond an easily searchable online resume and recommendation gatherer is pretty pointless. It can be useful for job hunting situations - you will be searched by prospective employers and your LI profile will be found, so why not spend some time making it sell you?

If you’re not looking for a job, headhunters will use it. If you’re exiting the job market, it’s pretty useless. And it has a very large signal to noise ratio.
