I think there are different threads for those who dislike @Beckdawrek - not to junior mod, but help yourself there. She is - to me - an amiable granny with not much to do except shoot shit on the internet. She posts only in the appropriate forums. She posts often, but the good lord Discourse gave us a way to ignore a poster. I read her posts. I may find them dull, boring or twee. That is not for me to judge, because I have control of what I read. I personally like that shit, others may differ. Alt-F4 is, as far as I recall, the Windows keyboard shortcut to escape a conversation. (Sorry, I have a Mac) ---

It was a joke. A joke. But, yes I think parents should be serious about raising kids. It’s a difficult job with little, if any, compensation. No benefits. Not much glory. You don’t drink and smoke on your job? I’m sure. Get you dismissed. Removing cleaning supplies from their reach is a very easy thing to do. Much less difficult than many other safety concerns. You strive to keep them safe, then they become teens and hopefully live. Then they up and leave you, about the time you think they can navigate the world sorta safely. I took my parenting not as a right but a true obligation to get them adult and alive. If that’s narcissistic and vain and only for old hags, you are mistaken, my friend. Mistaken. ---

I actually had him on ignore at one point, took him off ignore after he says he’d drop some of his behavior that he was doing on purpose to antagonize people, and he did for a while. Then in a thread he did his game where he intentionally misrepresented what I said, and rather than rise to the bait I ignored him again and he’s been on ignore since. I look forward to the day he gets banned because I’m annoyed by the notifications that a thread has a new post just to find out that it’s his, so it doesn’t really have a new post. (I wish Discourse would cut off notifications for people on ignore, maybe I’ll get off my butt and make a Site Feedback thread about it.)
