**Skywatcher** : Inspired by your post…and by your name!..I went to Google Maps and put in Mohonk Mountain Labyrinth. You can see it! The first hit is Mohonk Mountain House, and about 1/10 mile due east is a labyrinth! Skywatching (downwards!) is fun! ---

I climb ten foot up an extension ladder a few days ago … completely exhausted me … almost fell trying to climb back down … three straight days in bed before I recovered enough to trim my toe-nails. ---

When I first started posting here his sig line said something like “Professor of anomalous paleontology, Miskatonic University.” I thought he really was a Dr. and that Miskatonic University was a real place. I’d read my Lovecraft so I had absolutely no excuse for this belief. This was 1999, or so, I had just gotten the Internet and thought that everything on it must be true, but that’s no excuse. Anyway, I gave exaggerated credibility to everything he said based on his stated credentials. About 5 or six years later, apropos of nothing, I suddenly remembered that Miskatonic University was fictional and that the good Dr. was having me on. I felt shame and anger, but I realized that I would look small and petty if I called Dr. F. Out on his little fib and how I had swallowed it. I would seem obsessive and weird. I decided to bide my time and get my revenge later. I would wait for a pit thread about Dr. F. (Eventually he would screw up, make a mistake and get pitted for it.). There would be a pile on, and from the safe anonymity of the herd, I could attack and get my revenge for having been so gullible. Now finally, 17 years later, I have my opportunity. I will just glance over this thread, see what evrybody is piling on about and finally give Dr. Fidelius (Fidelius indeed! Ha!) the punishment he so richly deserves… Hmmmm. So yeah, umm, this crazy OCD guy is right and Dr. Fidelius gave bad advice. If you are a 1,000 pound guy who eats 30,000 calories a day, and cut that in half you are still going to gain weight, right? So, bad on you Dr. F. (Dammit, that was hardly worth waiting 17 years for.) ---

Today I went to the local mental health clinic for a six-monthly checkup. There was a new psychiatrist who seemed to be super happy and I said “you seem to be smiling a lot” and he said “I can’t help it”. I told him my life story and in the end he said he’d keep me on my current medication since I hadn’t been hospitalized for about 10 years. There was also a lady there. She asked about what my new diet involved. I was also saying that the anti-psychotic that me and many people I know am on, Clozapine, seems to be related to being overweight. She said that apparently it can give people an insatiable appetite for carbohydrates. I later asked her if that was in a textbook or in studies, etc, and she said it was anecdotal. The doctor asked me if I had OCD and I denied it. Perhaps I talked about the messageboards and clopine, etc, too much. I also commented that I don’t get the minimum wage and the lady said that was illegal. Then I said I used to work at a cafe and they only paid me half of the normal wage because I was a slow worker - I think it is called a “supported wage”. I told her that at my job my boss usually doesn’t pressure me to work quickly. ---
