Possibly; I also suspect that he is getting paid by someone to troll women’s basketball.

As discussed in this [Game Room thread](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/clay-travis-want-a-new-wnba-franchise-with-all-trans-women-players/1032302) last month, a guy named [Clay Travis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clay_Travis), who is a conservative talk-radio host and has been involved in various sports media projects, announced that he wanted to found an all-transgender WNBA team, and already had two former NBA players who were now “identifying as female” who were interested; Kanter is one of those two.

It would not surprise me if Travis, or someone similar, is bankrolling Kanter, and handing his legal fees.
