**Elmwood** , I have but one thing to say to you. You’re taller than me, make more money than me, have more posts than me, and get mentioned just as often as I do (i.e. never). You may feel like you’re wallowing in crap, but at least you aren’t buried under it. ---

**Elmwood** , sweetie, I have one piece of advice for you. Listen to it. If you want to be flirted with, start flirting yourself. Flirting is an art, and the getting good at it is half the fun (be prepared for an occasional ouch, though). How? Think of what you like about a person, then think of a nice way (sort-of fitting to their board persona) to tell them what you like about them. Some people won’t know how to respond elegantly, or at all, some will. But all will like it. The flirt threads are actually a good place to learn and practice flirting. I think that is one reason they are so popular, and seen in that light they are “fighting ignorance”, indeed. Giving positive attention is so simple and does so much good. If you do it well enough, it makes you so focused on the positive traits of other people you entirely forget about your own supposedly faulty ones. And you look fine to me. And showing your insecurity is a brave thing.
