I have a Joann’s Fabrics by me, so I think that will be my go-to craft store. Hopefully they aren’t as ignorant as HL. ---

They might have just enough brains not to sue the government over it or speak out in public about it. That’s what gets me about all of this stuff - how can anybody who is trying to make a profit take a stand that is bound to turn off some percentage of their customer base? Do they think that Evangelicals are going to run out and buy the supplies for 2 “Madison’s Third Birthday Party” scrapbooks to make up for the birth-control users they alienate? ---

I did a search for “boycott Joann’s fabrics” to see if anybody is upset over anything, and other than refusing to carry a particular issue of a quilting magazine one time, there doesn’t seem to be anything too stupid out there. ---

Christ on a stick, I love the SD. It has irritated me for years that HL has a sign (at least in my town) on the door that states, “Closed Sundays for family and worship.” Really? Had to go tell everyone how very very religious you are? Can’t just say, “Closed Sundays”? But I swore them off completely when I first heard this story, a few weeks back. I have other choices regarding where to spend my money. ---

Here’s a [blog post](http://design-crisis.com/?p=272) I found with pictures. Ironically, apparently Joann’s decided not to carry the magazine because they were afraid people would complain. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Personally, I don’t find them all that shocking. ---

Nice false equivalence too, by the way. There is no comparison between advocating against civil/reproductive rights and choosing what merchandise to stock. Hobby Lobby is trying to prevent their employees from accessing birth control, as well as actively funding at least one homophobic organization that is working to suppress LGBT rights. The Greens are batshit terrible examples of humanity, and Hobby Lobby is just another bastion of the religious right. Look. If you really want to buy yarn there and don’t give a shit whether they oppress LGBT rights or a woman’s right to control her uterus, then at least fucking own it. ---

There is no requirement that one has to be Christian to work at Hobby Lobby, nor is contraception inherently against Christian principles. Also, his objection has nothing to do with any action of the employees. It is only about whether he, as the owner of the company, should be required to pay for, essentially, abortifacient drugs. Now, he might be factually wrong in his understanding of the action of the drug itself, but none of that has anything to do with anything you tried to make it say.
