While I agree with the original pitting of him over his weird hatred of acronyms, this latest post is NOT hypocrisy; his entire point was that some idiot would be likely to come in and spew acronym-laden posts somehow claiming that Japan’s culture is to blame, and using such acronyms to show off their armchair-warrior street cred, and then claiming that basically if they only had heavily-armed security could such tragedies be prevented… It definitely did not belong in the breaking news thread, though. ---

I wouldn’t go so far as to say a mental health crisis, but it was decidedly odd. And aggressive. So the mods shutting it down hard and fast as off topic and inappropriate was well done. But it is that aggressiveness that really felt off to me, I mean ILMVI is normally much more the passive aggressive type. But the whole post is odd, it’s almost like the first and second half were written at two different times / by two different people. I’ve had something like that happen when I got pissed off at something IRL and started off angry but in control and as I kept talking/writing I worked myself into a near-frenzy. So while I won’t go so far as to say mental health issues (even just a whiff), I hope they had a chance to calm down and cool off. Not that there isn’t plenty of valid crap going on in the world to wind us all up. ---
