My _god_ man, I know full well you do the “regards” thing just because it annoys people. That’s fucked up. I don’t give a damn, about **ITR Champion** but I’m sick of looking at your elderly, and purposely annoying pony. The pony named “regards, Shodan” needs to be made in to glue.

Eh, in part I think he’s just got the fervor of the convert. Like former smokers that rail against their one-time brethren ;). But really he’s always been heavily involved in political debates on this board, his views have just flipped completely.
Old-timers will remember **ITR Champion** as dyed-in-the-wool [liberal](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=4296171&postcount=5). He was a vociferous critic of George W. Bush and defender of Clinton, a religious skeptic and happy to lambast [conservatives](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=241039) and their [claims](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=10343179&postcount=1). At a certain point his views began to [morph](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=10504839&postcount=32).
So he’s gone from a fervent atheist/agnostic liberal, to a fervent devoutly religious libertarian w/conservative leanings in ~ a decade. It’s probably a bit rarer to flip in the direction he did, but hardly unknown. But I dunno that he’s any better or worse of a poster for it.

I was surprised by this when I found out. I was visiting my parents and driving their car when his show was on. He was doing the same thing that all the Rush clones were doing.
