How can nobody have pitted this disgusting waste of space? To recap: Jeffrey Sandusky was pestering the 15- and 16-year old daughters of the woman he was dating at the time. Being a complete idiot as well as a disgusting human being, Jeffrey did this all via completely traceable text messages. Which were eventually discovered. It’s good that he’ll be locked up, and I hope his victims can heal and move on and be ok. I don’t believe that vengence or retribution = justice, so I hope he’s treated humanely in jail as I hope his fellow prisoners are. ---

Actually, I don’t hope for extra-judicial punishment for either of them. Justice means that your punishment is set through proper procedure and according to the law. ---

Not to excuse what he did, but I have no doubt he was one of his father’s victims as well. Again, DOES NOT EXCUSE WHAT HE DID, but most monsters aren’t born, they’re made, and he never really had a chance. ---

I suppose its possible, but I am disinclined to believe that Jeffrey was molested as a kid, since he defended his dad. His other brother Matt -was- molested, and did not defend his dad. ---

Whether his dad physically molested him or not, he was a terrible influence. You can just imagine what Jerry was telling him about sex. But I personally think he was also molested. This is definitely a situation where I could see him having been raised with really fucked up ideas of what is and is not appropriate. And, yes, maybe he was molested, too. Trauma in that period can cause issues with sexual desire. Or maybe he has a disorder that runs in the family–though at least these kids are likely post-pubescent. Not that this excuses anything. He’s old enough to know better. And he had a convenient reminder that his dad’s attitudes on this sort of thing were fucked up. And even if he has the desire, desire does not compel action. ---

He asked underage girls to send him pics of them nude, urinating etc. That they didn’t actually comply has little to do with it. I can’t find the cite at the moment, but I believe he is facing 4-6 years behind bars. Obviously would have been a lot more if physical touching etc would have been going on. ---

My aunt was molested by her father and later left her own kids in his care. My mother has spent her whole life defending him, even after he assaulted her own children at different times. Don’t expect rationality when dealing something as emotionally disturbing as sexual abuse. ---

Yeah, I was going to say, the fact that he defended his dad makes no difference to me. People react to trauma in strange and different ways, often sympathizing with/defending the abuser. You see this in domestic violence cases, Stockholm Syndrome, cults, all sorts of stuff. ---
