Not [once](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/active-shooter-incident-in-lewiston-maine-10-25-2023/992109/135) but [twice](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/active-shooter-incident-in-lewiston-maine-10-25-2023/992109/153) in a period of 5 hrs did he wish a mentally ill person kill themselves. Would he have said the same thing if they had cardiac issues or diabetes? What he did was awful, but he was hearing voices & had been committed to a mental institution for a couple of weeks this summer; someone f’ed up because he shouldn’t have had guns after that. 19 people are dead because he had an illness. it should have been zero, not one, asshole! --- _[View the full topic](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/i-pit-magiver/937851)._
