I Pit Manchester New Hampshire for "sponging off" Boston's name.

 I’ve used Charleroi before, and it was a simple bus ride into the city, perhaps 45 minutes?

But was the city Brussels ?

I’m not very savvy about flying, but I’d already planned to fly to Manchester, NH rather than Logan if I travel to Maine on my own anytime soon. Its reputation has reached us poor country folk in Tennessee.

Nay, this is a good thing. Boston’s flight paths tend to be overcrowded. Lotsa delays and circling in the air before you’re allowed to land. I much prefer Manchester or Providence when flying domestically. I can only hope that these jerkwater airports expand and get additional carriers willing to fly in and out.

But part of that is selfish. If Manchester & Providence get bigger it means that Hanscom stays the size it is now. I want that airport small till my parents sell the house and retire out West to be near me.

Currently ORH has no airline service. It’s been sporadic at best in the past, as commuter airline after commuter airline has failed to notice its horrible ground access and poor customer acceptance. To get there from the nearest freeway takes the better part of an hour through city streets with a lot of turns. Unless you’re right next to it, you can probably get to Logan faster anyway. Transferring ownership to Massport didn’t help that problem, but we taxpayers do own a nice new, but empty, terminal, the size of Manchester’s, there. Hanscom is owned by Massport too, and all that’s meant is that it’s now just as hostile and expensive for little-guy flyers as Logan.
