If it’s it to make yourself feel like the most righteous person ever, keep on keeping on. You’re doing great. If it’s to actually have an impact on sexism, you’re going about it all wrong. Here’s the thing: women don’t need patronizing, condescending dudes like you sticking up for us. All right? I don’t consider calling someone a “pussy” to be sexist. And don’t pull the whole “monarchists wanted to keep women barefoot and pregnant”, because it’s actually a bunch of bullshit, as anyone who studies history could tell you. And as for the Long-Necked One, he is responsible for all that is evil in this world. He’s worse than Hitler and Justin Bieber combined. People on the receiving end of structural violence face things much worse than annoyance. I once interned at a place where the chair/director/leader was talking to a group of visiting students about his experience at Dartmouth in the 1960s (the inspiration for _Animal House_, come to think of it). He explained that racist and sexist statements and such were everywhere, and to be gay was to risk one’s life. I can imagine what someone who challenged such attitudes received in response: “You’re annoying as shit. Lighten up! Just a joke!” with accompanying eye rolls. Did you see the movie _North Country_? I come from a place of sincerity. The “white suburban guys” you mention are often imitating dreadful stereotypes, either because they actually do identify with the “gangsta’s” stereotypical violence, sexism, homophobia, and general degeneracy, or because they’re insincere and would like to engage in cultural appropriation because they think it’s “edgy.” The former is worse, I’d say. ---
