BTW- I never want to take this off topic. The OP has valid reason to pit her neighbours and I can fight with Sierra and Kambuckta elsewhere.
What makes you think I have a mobile or shoes?
Being in Victoria would be sufficient punishment.
Ooh, someone’s in a suicidal mood tonight aren’t they?? Wot, with being in this time zone and all when most people on the Dope are sort of from Victoria and all??
You’re braver than I.
Sent you a personal message Kambuckta.
Hey, if you can annoy the Vic’s, why not?
I went to Brisbane once. It was shut.
Got the message, I’ve already replied.
You don’t need to go out of your way to annoy us Victorians. We’ve got our responses down to a fine art now…mention Sydney or NSW, we snort. Queensland, we snort twice, with a guffaw in between. For SA, WA or the NT, we just sigh, and for Tassie we start cracking the jokes.
We Vics don’t have a chip on our shoulder! We have two planks, just to even things out.
We heard you were coming.
I never said I wasn’t a screamer.
That is also the American irresponsible attitude. I am not saying you have the same attitude. There is more to it than that, well there should be more to it than that.
The reason the litter was free was because someone did not take the time to get their cat spayed or neutered. Yes accidents happen. I have had it happen to me but then I made sure to get my cat fixed and all her kittens fixed so there would be no more. I have nine cats and everyone has their shots and has been spayed and neutered.
I just get tired of so many people that get a free kitten because they are cute. Then when that kitten gets to sexually maturity, about 6 months, and the male cat is spraying everywhere and the female is howling and sticking her ass in everyones face they throw the thing outside only to make more “free” kittens.
I am lucky we have a low cost spay/neuter organization in our town and I realize that some places do not but I think people should research that before they get a pet not after the fact. I can’t count the times I have seen a person post on another board about their free kitten and then go bat shit that is costs $100 to get it fixed. That is why shelters charge an adoption fee. To cover the costs of fixing the animal and in most cases their first series of shots not even counting the food and shelter for it.
Your list should read…
- Think about getting a kitten
- Call up some veterinarians in your area and ask about spay/neuter fees
- Google for low cost spay neuter organizations in your area
- Decide if you can afford it, if yes, also check out fees to adopt from a shelter. It may end up being cheaper in the end. If this is still in your price range then go to #6
- Go to the store and get all the supplies you will need before your get said kitten
- Find someone who’s giving away kittens or drive to your local shelter
- Make appointment to get new kitten spayed or neutered
- Enjoy!
And as a cat owner- with five cats now seeming to live here ( I own one) I will back out. Thanks for the discourse. And to th OP- the cat owners are turds.
