Hey **Quad** - I really feel terrible for you. Truly. I have felt your pain. But on to the main point - do you know anything about post-viral syndromes? (I’m waving a virtual smudging bundle of sage around as I ask this, so that the evil doesn’t get passed on.) I had the real flu in December and I’m still not right. Not right as in fevers and sweats and crashing fatigue and medical disability and stuff. I’m asking anyone I can because I want out of this - I want to get better! And I do understand that this is internet and medical advice is worth what you pay for and yadda yadda … ---

Temp this AM 101.5, horrible headache from 4 am to 7 am, continuing diarrhea, and spasms of coughing, non-productive. Yesterday I managed to eat a cup of chicken broth, a cup of cheerios, and half a peanut butter sandwich, all within the same 24 hours. I’m forcing gatorade to keep adequately hydrated. I’m laying off the colored gatorade and going for the clear, because the colored stuff just makes the diarrhea look _too weird_. I’ve lost over 6 lbs since last thursday. Aren’t you glad you asked? 🙂 ---

Are you sure at this point that it’s viral? :dubious: and ☹ for you. I think Gatorade would give me diarrhea, but YMMV. (I try to avoid all high fructose corn syrup), but you do need the calories and the fluid. Is it time to discuss advanced directives? 🙂 ---

Hey, I was able to spend over 4 straight hours this AM out of bed, before I had to crash. Granted, the majority of the time was spent in a chair, but still! Actually, I am feeling tolerably ok about 75% of the time today, and think I’ll try to get to work this Thursday. And I felt bold enough to have some granola with my second cup of plain yogurt! (It made me feel logy for a while though) Thanks for all the support. ---

I hope you continue to improve, Dr. **QtM**. I’m getting my flu shot Monday and hope that I don’t catch anything in the interim. Reading this thread makes me remember that bout I caught about four years ago, when flu shots were running short. Yeesh, that was miserable - I was out of work for four days and felt like a dead body when I returned. Gack. ---
