I pit Obama

Where is this 100 number coming from?

“We figure there are about 100 people whom are Al Qaeda in Yemen…like Afghanistan”?

:dubious:

So… they deny it, they’re guilty; if they admit it, does that mean they’re innocent?

Gotta love the Obama bashers. It’s been one year, people. The man is nothing if not deliberate and thoughtful, which beats impulsive and stupid any day. He has a huge mess to clean up, an obstructive Senate minority and a largely ineffective Senate majority. George Bush and company spent eight years dismantling the Constitution. Give him some time.

Yeah, but he’s practicing Yemeni genocide!

You do realize you are coming across as a conspiracy theory nutjob, right? What else did we bomb that you have no cites for? Did we bomb the aliens after they landed at Roswell? Did Obama kill JFK?

I’m pretty sure Obama is Trig’s real mother.

I fucking love this attitude. LOL everything them government people say is a lie I’m so smart and cynical LOL

The issue is not “more” or “less,” but the content of what is delivered. Obama is turning out to be much, much more conservative than he appeared on the campaign trail. (And contards still call him a “socialist.” )

I can see that - but I also think there was a whole lotta hype (that wasn’t his fault - but the media) that seems to be a big cause of the let down.

Me also. I’d like to point out, however, that in actuality, “the Chosen One” was mostly a fiction perpetuated by his critics.

Yes. There are a number of things I dislike and/or disagree with, but they’re mostly excused by recognizing the truth of “politics is the art of the possible”. ISTM that the Obama administration is fairly moderate, which suits me generally. They’re clearly not the radical (and highly corrosive) group that the Bush administration was.

Wait, I thought we were calling him a fascist now. Let me check the calender… Yep, he’s a fascist until next Tuesday. Then he’ll go back to being a socialist. The administration will be a Czarist dictatorship on the 17th and an Islamic Oligarchy on the 25th.

Man, I just love the 2010 Fair and Balanced Calender.

There were some of his supporters (including some here) who had unreasonably high expectations back in 2008. Heck, they acted like Obama’s Nobel Prize was overdue.

One nice thing abut my job is I get to hear the current line of conservative groupthink. The current call of Obama is that he’s a failure because he hasn’t been able to turn America into an Islamic People’s Republic like he wanted to.

He said he’d be a centrist, and his role model would be Lincoln. He’s one of those who is consciously trying to not be a Democrat nor a Republican in the White House. He doesn’t want to be the biggest fist for his party, he thinks the president should be above that. It’s what he said he’d do.

I mean, when he wasn’t talking about exterminating the entire Yemeni population.

I do have to laugh at this. The minority is not obstructive. They cannot be obstructive. They simply do not have the numbers. But somehow they take the hit because the Democrats are fractured and disorganized? For what, opposing Obama’s policies? That is what they are supposed to do, they are the opposition party.

Put the blame where it belongs, squarely on the shoulders of the Democratic Party. Obama’s own party is betraying his policy initiatives.

Good grief. Obama is only closing in on his one year in office mark and people (well, numb nuts like gonzo) are already turning on the man. Personally, I’m still in ‘give the man some time’ mode. We have a LOT of problems, and only idiots without any understanding of politics (especially US politics) would think that Obama would have magically solved all our problems this rapidly. This isn’t a movie, and Obama isn’t Dave…he has to work in the real world, and in the REAL world there is a party that has nearly as much support both in the Legislature but also with the people…and that party is in opposition to him and his plans and party.

At least most of those responding to this thread seem to have a lot more brain cells than the OP, who is, sadly, an idiot of the first magnitude.

I am confused-Janet Napolitano said that the sytem is working (the government reaction after the failed Detroitbomb attack). Now Obama says that the system is NOT working-which is correct?
Another aside-Chris Dodd (the chief architect of the bank collapse) is not running!
I think this means that another serious crisis in the financial sector is about to explode!

Yemenocide!

You are confused. The chief architect of the bank collapse was Phil Gramm.

You do know what a filibuster is, don’t you?

Didn’t there use to be a time when responsibility entered into it too? When the out party had ideas and proposals of its own, which could be accommodated and compromised with in the national interest? Or is that just The Good Old Days stuff from an old-timer who remembers the pre-Gingrich era?

The concept of parties being coalitions that have to be held together with internal dealmaking to get anything done may be a little advanced for you. That part is, granted, much easier when the only thing being asked of you is to vote against whatever the majority is for. Requires much less thought that way.

I disagree. The republican’s aren’t the opposition party, they’re the filibuster party.

It’s not the purpose of the parties to make their members vote in one giant bloc in every single vote, on every single issue. However, the Replublicans have ceased to politick for the country and have instead focused exclusively on making the Democrats every initiative a legislative failure.
