As other people in this same thread have pointed out, her posting rates have increased astronomically over the past several weeks. Good for you that you’re so Zen you literally cannot see what you wish not to see. Maybe you can start a monastery. If you’ll re-read the thread, you’ll notice that I am not the only one that’s 1) noticed the increase, 2) noticed the patterns (both recently and for years), and 3) want to bitch about it. As much as you’d like to continue to pretend that this is a “failed” Pitting because I and the OP are the only ones annoyed, the numbers seem to be against you. ---

I just looked at her 25 most recent posts and of the threads displayed, 12 of them were greyed out signifying that I had opened them. That’s just under half, although she’s posted a couple of times to one of the threads which I only counted once so it’s actually a little over half. So in my inexpert opinion, I haven’t just missed the boat here. ---

Her posts do tend to be retarded, annoying, altogether too personal, and dismissive. They are not inordinately so for this board in quality but far more so in quantity. It is not at all difficult to find a thread (sometimes dishearteningly so), as either an OP or a contributor, with her special brand of input. In sum, I think its the cumulative effect of her specific brand of attention whoring that is remarkable. There’s lots and lots and lots of smarmy, lazy, TMI, “I’m a special brand of child abused vegetarian flower” attitude that gets annoying and is difficult to avoid. ---

From the point of view of expressing irritation at another poster, it seems to be doing quite well. I only mentioned failed pittings because you seemed to think it was inappropriate of me to disagree with the OP, and the example of a failed pitting seemed like a good counterproof. Finally, I’m only talking to you because you quoted my post with an error and then a difference of opinion. I wasn’t planning on saying anything more until your post arguing with me. And I don’t have anyone on my ignore list, actually. but I approve of its existence on a theoretical basis. I’ve never been that annoyed with someone. You may call it being zen if you like. I suspect it’s more a case of being easily distracted. ---

I don’t think it’s gonna change her attitude either. Especially, in that, her style is well supported, excused and protected. If you haven’t noticed, it’s because you aren’t paying attention. Or hang out exclusively in the Pit and the Game Room. ---

I’m just saying it hasn’t ruined my little corner of the Dope (mostly Cafe Society lately, with a smattering of Great Debates, General Questions and the Pit thrown in). You’re right that I’m not paying attention, in the sense that I don’t particularly look for Opal’s contributions or even notice when I do stumble over them. Apparently, I’m happier in my ignorance than the people who pay attention to her. PS – 10 posts since Thanksgiving? That’s quite an explosion for me.
