…as I said: you don’t want to fight. There is an actual genocide going on. And many of those who are fighting against it have been fired, evicted, beaten by cops AND counter-protestors, some of them are sailing in a flotilla right now and getting literally attacked by drones dropping explosives and gas. And yet here you are, thinking you are making a difference complaining about some randoms saying random things on the internet. When you are ready to join the fight, comrade, just let me know. But you can stop pretending. ---

I’ve been hesitating on doing this because I’ve been hoping this thread will wind down. But that doesn’t seem to be happening, so I might as well open up this can of worms. What genocide are we talking about? There seems to be at least two in play here. First is the genocide being conducted by the American government against Hispanic people, who may have entered the country illegally. Second is the genocide being conducted by the Israeli government, supported by the American government, against Gazans. Could people indicate which genocide they feel is occurring and they are fighting against? Or indicate if you feel both are occurring. Or indicate if you feel other genocides are occurring. Or will be occurring in the future. It can be confusing otherwise. For example, I thought Banquet Bear had been talking about the Hispanic genocide until they posted this: _There is an actual genocide going on. And many of those who are fighting against it have been fired, evicted, beaten by cops AND counter-protestors, some of them are sailing in a flotilla right now and getting literally attacked by drones dropping explosives and gas._ It was only when I read the reference to a flotilla that I realized they were talking about the Gazan genocide. For what it’s worth, I do agree that people are being killed in Gaza. I don’t agree that the American government is the party primarily responsible for this but that’s a separate issue. The Gaza killings are a real issue and the people who are fighting against it are participating in a real fight. ---

I would have thought it fairly obvious that @Banquet_Bear has always been talking about Gaza when referencing a currently-occurring genocide. And obviously the party primarily responsible for this is the Israeli government, but the US has been their principal diplomatic enabler and so must bear some level of responsibility. ---

In my defense, there have been several different conversations going on simultaneously in this thread. I had been discussing the issue of Laura Loomer and her remarks about feeding people to alligators, which was clearly talking about Hispanics. So when Banquet Bear talked about the genocide that was going on, I was thinking about that one. ---

Gaza genocide: happening. In my opinion, Israel is the primary state responsible, but American support is critical. America can stop the genocide by naming it and immediately withdrawing all support. By refusing to use this power, yes, we’re responsible. What I am doing: more or less nothing. Using my tiny platform to advocate; writing my Congressional rep.; not buying Israeli produce. Latino genocide: still laying groundwork. What I am doing: not buying US produce; writing reps; speaking Spanish on visits to the US; assuring my Mexican relatives that I support them; using my tiny platform to advocate. Holding my nose and voting D. Basically, nothing again. ---

But I personally feel that the current Israeli government has decided to kill Gazans and would be doing so regardless of whether they were being supported or condemned by the American government. So I don’t see Trump as an important figure in this issue. ---

I have heard reports that the Israelis are using the war as cover to kill Gazans when there is no military justification for doing so. But as I’ve said, I don’t know enough about the issue to know if these reports are accurate.
