You don’t get to slip from something very specific to hypotheticals about general groups of people. Little\_Nemo said they would shake hands with trans-hating-assholes who have stated they will be _voting against Trump_. That’s a very specific group of people. ---

This is correct. The only thing I would dispute is that I would do so “happily”. I would in fact, greatly dislike shaking hands with a trans-hating asshole. I had a hard time voting for Hillary Clinton because I remember her husband’s support for DoMA back in the 90s, a law that ultimately pushed me to emigrate while people like you didn’t notice because you were too busy shaking hands with the devil. We were acceptable fodder for compromise, and that was not okay. Not that anyone is going to apologize beyond “I guess it sucks to be you.” ---

I fully agree that having any Americans being second class citizens sucks. Everyone should have full equality. The problem is that Democratic orthodoxy only means anything if Democrats are willing to state their values and stick to them, and many of them are failing at that. If enough people think like Little\_Nemo, then the only actual Democratic value at the moment is ‘win’. ---
